Instead of a single marine amphibian species, researchers uncovered evidence of a surprisingly diverse community of early ocean predators. Christian Bale has confirmed he will be joining the cast of Heat 2, the sequel to Michael Mann’s crime classic.
Released in 1995, Heat starred Al Pacino as a detective in pursuit of a major criminal (Robert De Niro), with both men’s devotion to their worlds mirroring each other. It is considered one of the great movies of the ‘90s, and a classic of the crime thriller genre.
A sequel to the movie has been discussed for years, but in recent months has moved ahead with some of the biggest names in Hollywood attached.

A film executive has revealed that 2021 Marvel movie Spider-man: No Way Home wasn’t released in China because their film board did not want The Statue of Liberty in the film.

In October 2025, Apple notified the European Commission that it would be acquiring invrs.io LLC’s sole employee, and certain assets from the company. Following a four-month waiting period, the European Commission published this information this week. That sole employee appears to be Martin Schubert, according to his LinkedIn profile. Schubert founded invrs.io in 2023 to advance AI-guided design, initially focusing on optical and photonics technologies for AR/VR, data centers, and more.

A Chinese law enforcement official attempted to use ChatGPT to review its reports on cyber operations, subsequently revealing details of a worldwide online harassment and silencing campaign of China’s critics at home and abroad.
In a new threat report released Wednesday, OpenAI said the activity concerned a single account that regularly used ChatGPT to review and edit reports on “cyber special operations.” That same account also attempted to use ChatGPT to plan a propaganda campaign against Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. When the model refused, the actor came back weeks later with prompts indicating the operation had proceeded anyway.
The reports uploaded to ChatGPT “suggested that the threat actors had conducted many other, earlier operations, in a comprehensive effort to suppress dissent and silence critics both online and offline, at home and abroad,” the report said.
