Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max have been runaway hits in China, but it has nothing to do with new AI or camera features – it’s largely down to the color. The Cosmic Orange finish made available exclusively on Apple’s high-end Pro models has been widely dubbed ”Hermès orange” by Chinese consumers who associate the vivid hue with the French luxury brand’s signature color.

It sounds like Apple will continue a positive CarPlay trend around iOS 27 – 9to5Mac

It sounds like Apple will continue a positive CarPlay trend around iOS 27 – 9to5Mac

When Apple previewed “next-generation CarPlay” in 2022, it felt like Apple froze development of the CarPlay version actually used by drivers. Eventually, next-gen CarPlay became CarPlay Ultra, and CarPlay for non-Aston Martin drivers rapidly started to see new improvements again. Apple TV is about to bring back two of its best sci-fi series – 9to5Mac

Apple TV is about to bring back two of its best sci-fi series – 9to5Mac

Apple TV has a deep bench of acclaimed sci-fi series, and two of its best are coming back soon: the Godzilla-starring Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and space race drama For All Mankind.

Apple TV series are typically entirely original or adapted from novels. Very few are based on already-popular IP. But Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is a big exception.

Monarch is set in the Legendary ‘Monsterverse’ and features Godzilla, Kong, and more. The first season was praised by critics, however, for not just being a cheap IP play.

Apple’s longest running sci-fi series is For All Mankind, the alternate history space-race drama from creator Ronald D. Moore.

Time marches on in For All Mankind, as what used to be a period show has now progressed into the not-too-distant past of the 2010s.

Over the course of four seasons, the series has a strong 92% Rotten Tomatoes score. The first season is commonly seen as the weakest, plagued by slow pacing but still showing potential and hitting its stride in subsequent years.

Two senior European political figures were the latest to fall over links to the disgraced US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In Paris, the veteran politician Jack Lang quit as the head of the prestigious Arab World Institute. Lang was under investigation for financial crimes, focused on an offshore fund held by Epstein and Lang’s daughter.
