Hundreds of skills for the AI agent OpenClaw (formerly Clawdbot) were laced with malware.
VirusTotal flagged the issue in a recent blog post. OpenClaw is a self-hosted AI agent that runs locally on your machine and can take real actions: executing shell commands, manipulating files, or making network requests. Users can expand what it does by installing community-built skills.
What VirusTotal found was that attackers had been packaging Trojans and data stealers as legitimate skills on the ClawHub platform. The skills themselves often looked clean, but they instructed the agent to download and run external payloads, including the well-known macOS Trojan Atomic Stealer. One user alone uploaded more than 300 infected skills.

It’s easy to forget that Sir Will Lewis’s arrival at the Washington Post in late 2023 provoked cautious optimism: He was an ex-journalist who charmed the newsroom. He was also a source of chaotic, but fresh, energy.
He arrived after years of genteel decline at a newspaper that could go one of two ways: It could be a collapsing metro paper like the Chicago Tribune; or a global powerhouse like the New York Times.
Lewis, who resigned today after overseeing deep cuts to the newsroom, lost his footing over two errors, one of his and one of owner Jeff Bezos’s: First, Lewis blocked the Post reporting on his role in the UK phone hacking scandal, preventing the publication of a story few would have read anyway. Then, Bezos pulled a planned endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris at the 11th hour, for apparent fear of offending Donald Trump. That endorsement wouldn’t have made much of a difference politically, but hundreds of thousands of subscribers canceled over what they saw as a craven capitulation.

Melania is having trouble staying on the field at the Super Bowl weekend box office, where it is bracing itself for a steep decline and a possible tenth-place finish with $2.4 million, according to Friday returns. Others think it could finish slightly higher to come in ninth.
Amazon MGM Studios put out a statement Saturday stressing that the first lady’s documentary, directed by Brett Ratner, is already a win in for cinemas after opening to a better-than-expected $7.2 milion a week ago, the biggest launch in a decade for a doc (that excludes concert pics and nature films from Disney).
