In the latest illustration of how quickly attackers can exploit newly disclosed flaws, Russia’s notorious APT28 cyber-espionage group has begun abusing a recently patched Microsoft vulnerability to steal emails and deploy malicious payloads against organizations in Central and Eastern Europe.

CVE-2026-21509 is a security feature bypass vulnerability in Microsoft Office for which Microsoft rushed an out-of-cycle patch on Jan. 26 after confirming active zero-day exploitation. The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) added the flaw to its database of known exploited vulnerabilities at the time.

Mozilla on Monday announced a new controls section in its Firefox desktop browser settings that allows users to completely turn off generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) features.

”It provides a single place to block current and future generative AI features in Firefox,” Ajit Varma, head of Firefox, said. ”You can also review and manage individual AI features if you choose to use them. This lets you use Firefox without AI while we continue to build AI features for those who want them.”

Mozilla first announced its plans to integrate AI into Firefox in November 2025, stating it’s fully opt-in and that it’s incorporating the technology while placing users in the driver’s seat.

The AI boom could cost Apple up to $57 more per iPhone – for memory chips alone.

”The rate of increase in the price of memory is unprecedented,” says Mike Howard, an analyst at TechInsights, speaking to the Wall Street Journal. By the end of this year, the price of DRAM will quadruple from 2023 levels, and NAND will more than triple.

For Apple, the numbers are stark: The base-model iPhone 18 due this fall could cost $57 more in memory alone compared with the current iPhone 17 – a significant hit to profit margins on a device that retails for $799. This aligns with recent rumors that Apple may delay the base model’s release to later this year.

Netflix is getting in the BTS business.

The K-pop supergroup is set to make their long-awaited return in March, releasing their first album in years, Arirang, following their group hiatus so the members could complete their mandatory military service in Korea.

Netflix announced BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang on Monday, a special live stream performance of the seven-member group, which will stream on the platform on March 21. The live stream — the first global performance of the album, which is being released on March 20 — is being broadcast live from Gwanghwamun, a well-known Seoul landmark offering views of the city’s iconic Gyeongbokgung palace.

Doom and Wolfenstein creators id Software is celebrating its 35th anniversary, with studio director Marty Stratton teasing some announcements during the momentous occasion.

Stratton, in a new video from the studio marking the anniversary, vaguely mentions that the team have ”a lot coming up this week to celebrate with all of you”, continuing on to say that ”throughout the years we’ll be celebrating this anniversary, and a lot of other anniversaries.” The studio’s X account also shared a promotional image for the anniversary, depicting the Doom Slayer from the studio’s most recent title, Doom: The Dark Ages.
